Day #11...

Today has been a gloomy day outside, it's been snowing and raining since I woke up this morning.  It's very nice because I don't have to drive in it!!  YEAH!  I have already been on the monitors today, my uterus wasn't cooperating again today:(  I had another shot and stayed on the monitors for just over 2 hours.  Everything is going pretty good right now, I am still feeling a few contractions but they are more like irritation.
I hope everything keep to go well because my family is coming to the hospital to eat dinner with me.  We normally get together on sundays as a whole family and my mom is so cute and thought it would be fun to come here so I could be involved.  Randy (of course), Jessica, Scot, Hannah, Caden, Jared, Mom, Abby, and grandma are coming (and possibly grandpa).  Can't wait for everyone to get here!!

Day #10...

I can't believe that I have been here for 10 days already, it's gone by pretty fast.  I had a few contractions at the end of when I could be taken off the monitor.  So I stayed on for a little longer and they got worse and worse so I got the shot again and had to stay on for another hour.  I pretty much just laid in bed with monitors attached, crochet some burp cloths and played my ds.  Then I got a headache so I fell asleep for about 3 hours.  It felt so nice to actually sleep and not get interrupted by the nurses, well at least I didn't hear them if they did come in.  Some nurses are really nice and let me sleep and other nurses just flip the lights on and talk in their normal voices.
My parents came to see me after my nap, they bought me a cover for the car seat.  It's so cute!!  I also got to see my uncle Tod Oman that I haven't seen since my wedding, he lives in California and we don't get to see him very often.  I have only seen him 2 times that I can remember my whole life.  The whole clan came with Tod... Carrie, Kim, Jordan, Nick, Cara, Jenna, Danielle and Heather.  It was fun to reminisce about camping and other family things we have done in the past.

Day #9

Today has already been a lot better than yesterday.  Except for my crazy nurse that woke me up at 7am and turned on the lights.  I was so shocked that she did that!!  Then she said to me well I am not the nice nurse, sorry.  Wow, what do you say to that.  I am glad that she wasn't the nurse yesterday, I probably would have had Luke.  She is a rough around the edges type of person.  When she was checking my breathing and the baby she was pushing so hard.  Kinda funny!  All I can do is laugh about it and be grateful for the other nurses I have had and pray that I will get one of them next.

I took a tour of the NICU this morning with Randy and my mom.  It was very interesting, sad and calming all in the same feeling.  I feel more at ease now that I know what a great NICU they have here and how knowledgeable the nurses are.  The babies were so tiny, all of them were on feeding tubes.  They showed us a 5 lb boy that was born at 34 weeks, WOW very little but he was doing so well!!  The nurses were at high hopes since I am almost 35 weeks.

Day #8...

Today was a hard day, I had long contractions and they were about 4-5 mins apart.  My doctor told the nurses they had to give me a shot of Terb.  Well I had that and normally it will stop the contractions within about 5 minutes, but it didn't work this time.  I was still having them and they were getting longer and stronger.  So they gave me another shot of the Terb, that medicine makes me shaky and sick.  The terb worked a little bit but I was still in lots of pain, so the nurse gave me morphine in my butt!  Holy cow, I have never had morphine before.  I don't know why people take that medicine for fun.  I was even more shaky, pale white, dizzy and tired.  Pretty interesting!!  Luke finally cooperated and I took a nap which made me feel much better.  I was on the monitors for about 3 hours today.  Everything is fine now and under control.  I went on a wheel chair ride with Randy, we went down to the cafeteria and I ate raspberry sherbet.  Now I am back to watching Friends (I am now on the 8th season).

I hope everything goes well tomorrow and keep praying that he stays in for a little longer.

Sadie came to the hospital..

On Sunday my mom and Jared brought Sadie to come see me.  I have been so sad that I couldn't see her.  She was so excited to see me and wouldn't stop licking me.  Sadie wouldn't leave my side and whenever Randy or one of the kids would try to take her from me she growled and showed her teeth.  She is such a cute doggy!!  I miss her.

Day #6...34 weeks!!

Today has already been interesting,  Julia (my doctor) came in at 7 to see how everything was going.  After she left I jumped in the cold shower and got ready for the day.  But after that I started having contractions again, they were about 10 mins apart and not too strong.  The nurse brought my medication to me and I am still having them.  I'll be getting on the monitors soon so we will see what happens.  Julia said that we have to hold off for at least one more week.  Today I am 34 weeks along!!  Yeah!!  Julia said I am looking great but Luke has got to cooperate and stay where he is at.

Last night Matt, Ranae, Trey and Ethan came to visit us.  Those boys are so dang cute and hilarious.  Trey was playing DS with Randy and Ethan was jumping on Ranae.  My step mom and her husband came also, they were on their way home from St. George.  Kim is so cute, she brought me tons of magazines, treats and a DS game.  My visiting teachers came also, I have never met them before so that was nice to finally put a face to their name.

Thanks again for all of your comments and prayers, Randy and I really appreciate all of the support that we have gotten from our friends and family.

Day #5

Today has been a good day, I have had a few visitors so the time has gone by so fast.  I missed lunch today that's how fast it has gone by today.  My aunt Donna came in this morning, it was great to see her because I didn't see her at Christmas.  I had some more really strong contractions today that were very close together.  The nurse gave me another shot to stop them and it worked very fast.  The shot makes me very shaky and sick but I would rather have that then Luke coming out when he needs to stay inside.

Last night, my family brought Sadie to see me.  Oh my gosh I wanted to cry when I saw her.  I was so happy and excited.  She was hilarious and wouldn't leave my side or stop licking me.  Randy tried to pick her up and she growled at him.  Then the kids tried to pick her up and she got mad.  She is going to be so shocked when we come home with the baby!!  My friend from high school also came to see me, Amber Hoyle.  I haven't seen her for about 4 years.  She is pregnant with her 3rd baby, she will have 3 kids in diapers!!  Oh my goodness, she is crazy!  It was very good to see her and hear about what she has been doing since high school.

Tonight we have quite a few visitors coming.  It will be nice to catch up with family and friends.  Randy and I are going to the nursery tonight so he can see what the brand new babies look like.  Also a social worker came in and said we can take a tour of the NI CU so we aren't completely surprised when he comes.

Day #4...

Everything is still going well!  The baby is very active, I have been sleeping pretty well thru the night.  The nurses are so nice and very helpful!  All of them keep saying I am their easiest patient because I don't demand lots of things from them.  Yesterday afternoon I took my medicine that is stopping the contractions and for some reason I turned really red.  The nurses didn't know what to do because I wasn't itching or having a hard time breathing.  I just looked like I got back from St. George and laid out in the sun for 4 hours.  Pretty interesting, but after about an hour it finally went away.  Last night I got to take a wheel chair ride around hospital.  I was so excited to get out of my room and have fresh air.  My family is coming to visit today and they are bringing Sadie, aww I can't wait to see her.  She is going to freak out, she doesn't like new things so it will be fun to see what she does.  Some members from the church came this morning and they are bringing me the sacrament and also a lesson today.  It will be nice to have some familiar activity right now.

Christmas 2009

Randy and I spent Christmas Eve with my family again this year.  It's always so much fun to watch the kids in the morning open presents from Santa.  Holidays are always so busy for us, it's stressful sometimes.  My parents spoiled us again this year.  The car seat and stroller is so dang cute, thanks mom and Jared.  We saw Marley and Me, went and saw grandma and grandpa Falk, also my brothers, then the Oman family and after that we went to Michelle's house for Randy's family get together.  Busy, Busy, Busy!!

Kim's 40th Birthday

We decided to surprise Kim for her 40th birthday on January 9th!  It was so much fun, Kim had no idea.  But if you ask her husband Travis it was one of the hardest things because Kim has to know everything.  He lied so much just to keep it a secret from her.  Jordan and Travis had to text each other even when they were in the same room because Kim was trying to figure things out.  She was so startled when she came into the house it was the best!

Day #3...

I am in the hospital still and everything is going well.  I had contractions last night but they gave me some medicine and they stopped right away.  The doctor said everything looks great he just wants to come out really bad.  She talked to me today and said we have to make it to the 35 week mark and then we will see what happens.  If I stop having contractions and I am not dilated then I go home when I reach 35 weeks.  Julia (my doctor) doesn't think I will make it that long but we will see.  She is a very honest person which I respect and like that a lot, she isn't sugar coating anything!  Randy is working right now, he isn't to excited to be there but I don't want him to waste all of his time entertaining me!!  I have been watching friends and playing my ds today, I wish I could have had time to get all of my scrap booking stuff together.  I could do a couple of albums for the time I have.  My grandma and grandpa Oman came to see me this morning.  It was nice to talk to them and get caught up because I hardly ever see them.  We got some beautiful flowers from my work, they are gerber daisies!!  My favorite!!  Well I'll keep you updated on what's going on.  I am going to try to write everyday so we have a journal of what's going on!

Something really funny that my mom told me..  Wednesday night my mom told Caden and Abby that I was going into labor and Luke might be coming soon.  They of course got sooo excited.  Caden started jumping up and down saying "I am going to be an Aunt, I am going to be an Aunt."  Then he stopped and had a funny look on his face and then said "Oops, I meant Uncle."  I think that is so funny!

Then Abby told my mom that she is glad he is coming January or February because she doesn't want him born in March.  My asked why, she just said she didn't like it.  Also a few months ago when I told her we were naming him Luke, she cried.  She didn't like the name because that was her first boyfriend in kindergarten.  But now she is finally over it!

The kids are so cute, I love them so much.  They are watching Sadie right now.  I miss her so much, I don't get to see her for over 2 weeks.  It's like I am away from my one of my kids.  But she is with my family and she loves them so much!!

All hooked up at the hospital...

Randy and I are in the delivery room waiting to see what will happen with Luke... (Thursday morning)

Thursday afternoon...  My contractions are under control and I got to move rooms.  I am now in the rooms where you stay after you have the baby.  It's much nicer and more comfortable then the the delivery room.  I only have the nurses coming in every few hours verses every hour.  Luke wouldn't cooperate with one of the nurses, she was trying to hook him up to the monitor to make sure his heart beat was okay.  She had to call in another nurse to have her try and he liked her and did much better.  It was kinda funny.  The new nurse found his heart beat and everything was great.  I actually slept for more than 2 hours last night.

Thanks for all of your calls and prayers, Randy and I appreciate it so much.

In the hospital...

On Wednesday, January 14th I was having lots of pain at work, I called my mom and she said that we probably should go to the hospital just to make sure everything was okay.  I had another manager cover for me so I could leave.  I started thinking that these pains were contractions, so I timed them while I drove home to meet my mom.  I called  Randy to let him know what was happening, he also was at work but I told him to stay just in case it wasn't anything.  The contractions were 5 minutes apart and very strong to where I don't remember making it home.  My mom then came to my house about 10 minutes after I got home and took me to McKay Dee.  I went into their clinic on the Labor and Delivery floor, the nurses were amazing and so kind.  I filled out the proper paperwork while hooked up to the monitors...I was still having contractions about every 4 minutes at that point.  One of the nurses knew that something was wrong so she called my doctor to see if she could check everything.  Sure enough I was dilated to a 4...well I was freaking out because I still have about 7 weeks until my due date.  They immediately called my doctor and she said to admit me to the hospital until I have the baby.  The nurses got me lots of drugs to stop the contractions and then I was hooked back up to monitors.  I called Randy again and told him he probably should come just in case the drugs wouldn't stop Luke from coming out.  Randy was so nervous, you could just hear it in his voice.  It was so sad because he had no clue what to do, say or expect.  He asked my mom and I 4 different times what room I was in...it was really cute.

The baby is doing great at this point and has a very strong heart beat and he weighs 4 lbs as of last Friday.  I talked to the NICU nurse about what can happen to baby Luke when he arrives.  She was very honest in telling me what we are facing.  I know that everything will be okay, Jared and Randy gave Luke and I a blessing that night and I have felt so much better.  There is so much going thru my head right now about what can happen.  All of the nurses are being positive and telling me that since I am passed 33 weeks everything will be fine, I guess it's really scary when it's before that.  So that's good!!!  My doctor said that I have to stay in the hospital for 2 weeks and if nothing is happening then I will go home and wait to see what happens.  If my water breaks and everything starts progressing then I will deliver but they are wanting to push me for the full 2 weeks.  So now I am on bed rest until Luke comes!  My doctor said that she doesn't think that I will be able to go the full 2 weeks, so we will see what happens.

I'll keep you updated on what is going on since I have a lot time now.  I'll be posting lots of stuff from Christmas and other fun things we have done.  Also I finally have some belly pictures to show you all.
